A Little Praise and Promotion
We were really excited today to learn that Flutter was named 7th best Facebook game of 2010 by the editors at games.com. Check out what they had to say:
“Flutter’s smooth animation, soothing music and extremely detailed visuals are a sight to behold as you guide butterflies through a rainforest interacting with wildlife and completing quests. In what might be a first for social games, there’s no pressure to be the best in Flutter, just be.”
This follows on from some great feedback we’ve had from our players on the wall and review page. We’re really happy you’re enjoying the game and we cant wait to expand on it further.
Our big challenge has been learning how to attract and retain players in the Facebook space. Getting more social interactions into the game has been a great step forward, and we’ve kicked off a new range of ads to pinpoint people in the social network who we think will appreciate the game. So far the response has been fantastic with a high click-through rate and more great feedback from our new players. Welcome guys!
We’re working really hard on our new iPhone game at the moment which we’ll be able to talk about really soon, and hopefully with a few more players joining in with Flutter, we’ll be able to say something about some expansion there soon too

I really like your game and think you all have done a fabulous job on the graphics, but I do have some suggestions as a new player. I think you need to have a “wall” for friends to post to one another when visiting- more things for visitors to collect “by” visiting each other to increase the social interactions as well as free gifts to give to one another, and finally I would say some tutorials are really needed – while the beginning one is great- players really need to understand more and/or have a place to go to get information/share with other players beyond 1 or 2 sentences. Rare items, termites, why when you click on beetles or leaf bugs they disappear….are just some of the points of frustration as a new player(besides the glitches)that I am facing.

Hi Luana, many thanks for playing the game and sending through your comments! Definitely agree the game would benefit from adding some more social functionality, free gifts and friend messages will be coming soon. On the tutorial side, you can use the ? tool in the bottom left to get more info on most things in the game, but we’ll run a check over to make sure thats hooked up with everything. We’re always working to make the game more accessible, and striking that right balance where some things are a bit of a mystery you have to figure out
Thanks again, hope you’re having fun!

Beautiful game, wonderful illustrations, glorious colours. What’s stopping a number of people from playing is the absence of a wall to leave messages on. Two examples of feedback I got:
“I have yet to find a game where you can be social like FL which is the only reason I play. Flutter is beautiful but you can’t leave messages so it’s missing a major component.”
“If you get to a higher level, can you leave messages and talk? If so, I’ll give it a try. If not…I’m sorta social and I don’t have the time to get addicted to another game.”
Sooooo….. My perception is that the ‘message wall’ they’re talking about is not a terribly sophisticated or pricey piece of software to add on. It’s also a big ‘stickiness’ factor for a lot of people who use it INSTEAD of other media for connecting with friends and family. (‘-’)
Looking forward to seeing how it develops!!
