Usability and Community
Hey Flutter fans, just a quick update to let you know we’ve had our heads down working on some really cool updates to the game which will make it easier to learn, smoother to play, and lay the foundation for all our future extensions of the rainforest.
A lot of new players have found it hard to deal with the game’s complexity, especially when having to drop special items on special objects in the world. That frustration is going to come to an end very soon as we introduce a one-click system for interacting with objects that magically knows what everything in the rainforest wants! You’ll get to see it in action very soon, and hope you enjoy the new fluidity it’ll add to your trips through the forest.
I’d also like to take this chance to welcome our new Community Manager, Donnelle, to the team. She’ll be round to help you guys out if you have technical problems, game suggestions, etc. We’re really excited to have her on board to ensure we stay right up to speed with our community, and that we’re doing the best we can to make the game better for our players. Join us in welcoming Donnelle here, or pop her an email with a question or suggestion atsupport@runawayplay.com
Hang tight for a very cool update end of this week

Welcome, Donnelle!
This may be in the plans, but many of us would like to see a new animal (as a quest reward) added to our grove, especially for those higher level players looking for something new to do. I asked the question in a group and the favorites were: Fruit bat, snake, jaguar, and lemur. Dragonfly, sloth, and monkey were mentioned, as well.
Another thing we’ve been asking for is to have at least one more background as a honeydew purchase item instead of for Facebook credits. Many people who play Flutter are kids or older people on a fixed income and cannot afford to spend money on a game. I, personally, have several terminally ill Flutter friends who can’t afford to spend their medical care money.
I think offering one of the nicer backgrounds as honey dew so these people aren’t stuck with the bland default would be a nice gesture to your loyal users. I understand the goal is to raise money for the Amazon and WWF, but one extra background won’t take away from that since your users advertise for you and recruit many more players every day who can and will spend money.
Also, there seems to be some inconsistency in what level players need to be for each totem quest. The Grove Totem, for instance, was once Level 21 but now appearing as Level 24 for some newer players. Same with the Explorer Totem. I was able to unlock mine at 22, but my daughter is being told hers won’t open until she is level 24. Other totems are changing levels, as well, and sometime during game play, you can pass the cursor over a locked totem and see one level marked on it and then marked with a different level the next day.
Thank you for this really beautiful, relaxing, fun game, and for listening to our concerns and suggestions.

This update sounded cool at first but this was not well thought out. The biggest issue is only being able to collect from the forest flowers only once a day. This makes it pointless to visit the game other than once per day (if at all). I’ve noticed that the apps facebook page is littered with complaints from other players over this update. Perhaps those in R&D might read these comments and take them into account. If the previously loyal fan base is alienated you are likely to have a mass exodus of players/spenders on your hands.
